Search engines are the major source for the targeted traffic. If you want to rank higher positions for your major keyword, you must analyze your competitors. Here are some points of considerations for SEO competitor analysis.

Page Title:
Analyze what kind of title your competitors use. Do they include the keywords in their title or filled their title just with marketing messages?

No of Indexed pages:
Analyze how many pages of your competitor have been indexed by major search engines. Compare relevant content of your competitor in the indexed pages with your indexed pages.

External Links:
Determine how many external links are pointing to your competitor. It is almost possible to get links to your blog/website from the page where your competitor has their link.

Keyword Density:
Analyze the keyword density of your competitor for your major keywords. Compare it with yours’. You can check the keyword density here.

META-Data:
Analyze the META description. Check how your competitor used the major keywords with in the description.

Rankings:
Determine at what position your competitor is ranked for your major keywords in search engines. If they ranked higher, analyze why?
