Blogging is a hobby which brings in revenue. Making money from blog sounds like an easy job. But it is not that easy and even it is not hard too. Here is a guide for beginners to Blogging.

What is a blog?

?A blog is a user-generated website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order? ? this is how a blog is defined by Wikipedia. A blog is just a collection of your views towards something. Others will see your views and comment on it. Simple ah!

Decide your subject

It?s very easy to start a blog. Before starting a blog, you have to decide about the subject in which your blog will be. In my view this is the most difficult part. Select a subject in which you are most familiar with. There?s no need that your topic should be technical. You can also post your daily habits as writing in a dairy. What all needed is interesting content, which make your visitors to be in your blog.

Create your blog

Starting a blog is completely free. As a beginner I suggest you to start a blog with www.blogger.com. You need a Google account to start your blog at blogger. This is an easy part and I don?t want to tell these basic things and we?ll skip them.

Select a proper name for your blog. Your blog name should be related to your subject. Now your blog is ready for posts.

Write a post

Write an article about your subject. Write it in an interesting manner. I suggest you to use a text editor with built-in spell checker. This will be very helpful to avoid spelling and grammar mistakes. I use ms-word while writing my article. After writing the article, check it twice before posting. Keep writing posts with 300-1000 words. The length of the post is not a matter if it is interesting. Your visitor will not waste time in reading lengthy posts. All your visitor need is something interesting. Keep this in mind while writing your post.

  • Give attractive titles to your posts.
  • Write at least 4-5 articles a week in the beginning.

Make money with your blog

Making money with your blog is the great part in blogging. There are many income sources for a blog. Here are some of my money makers for beginners.

Google Adsense

Adsense is an advertising program from Google. After posting 5-6 articles in your blog apply to Adsense. Your application will be reviewed and you will be approved or rejected within 1-3 days. Know more about Adsense before applying for it.

AuctionAds

Auctionads is an affiliate network which promotes ebay products through your website/blog. You will get $5 just for signing up with auctionads.

Bidvertiser

If you are rejected by Adsense then I suggest you to come to bidvertiser. This is a network similar to Adsense. The minimum payout is $10 which is attractive.

These income sources are enough for a beginner. After doing experiments with these sources you can search for other.

Getting traffic to your blog

Getting traffic to your blog is the difficult part unless you work at least an hour a day with your blog. As a beginner I suggest you to post your blog in social networking websites like orkut, mylot or myspace.
